DESCRIPTION:\n  \n \n—-english below—- \nŠį penktadienį-šeštadienį Emmoje – mokslinės fantastikos filmų naktis! \nMokslinė fantastika visada yra kartu ir pabėgimas iš šio pasaulio ir būdas pamatyti jį iš perspektyvos\, susvetimintu žvilgsniu\, pašalinant jo savaime suprantamumą ir natūralumą. Vienas iš dalykų\, į kurį šiuo nauju būdu leidžia pažvelgti mokslinė fantastika – santykis su sveti(mu)mu ir kitoniškumu\, kuris visada buvo viena pagrindinių šio žanro temų. Būtent todėl\, be kita ko\, mokslinė fantastika padeda geriau suprasti kolonijinius ir postkolonijinius galios santykius\, vakarų požiūrį į kitas kultūras\, kolonialumo* būklę. Ir nors didelėje dalyje holivudo produkcijos šie galios santykiai atkartojami visiškai nekritiškai\, kai kurie mokslinės fantastikos kūriniai sąmoningai bando parodyti jų išnaudotojiškumą ir nelygybę\, atskleisti ir sugriauti kito kaip ontologiškai mažiau-nei-žmogaus reprezentacijas\, o kartais leidžia pažvelgti į pasaulį be šių dalykų. \nTaigi\, šios filmų nakties tema – galios santykiai su sveti(mu)mu mokslinėje fantastikoje. Filmų sąrašo neskelbiam\, tačiau jei būtinai norite sužinoti – parašykite mums asmeninę žinutę. \n*kolonializmas – politinių ir ekonominių sąntykių\, kuriais vienos valstybės ar žmonių grupės galia apriboja kitos suverenumą\, visuma. Kolonialumas – kolonializmo padarinys; tai galios struktūros\, įrašytos į kultūrą\, darbą\, tarpasmeninius santykius\, žinių produkciją visuomenėje\, kuri anksčiau buvo kolonizuota. \nSci-fi film night at Emma this Friday to Saturday! \nThe genre of science fiction is always both an escape from this world and a way to see it from a perspective\, to acquire an estranged look that eliminates its self evidence and naturalness. One of the things that sci-fi allows us to see in this new way is the relationship to the other and the alien\, which was always one of the main topics of the genre. This is why\, among other things\, sci-fi allows us to better understand colonial and post-colonial power relations\, the west’s representations of other cultures and the condition of coloniality. And while while in many hollywood sci-fi fantasies these power relations are repeated completely uncritically\, some works of the genre completely consciously attempt to show the exploitation and inequality inherent in these relations\, to reveal and to subvert the representations of the other as ontologically less than human\, and sometimes to even show a glimpse of a world without these alienated relations. \nHence the topic of this film night is the power – relations with otherness in science fiction. We will not announce the film list\, but if you must know it\, just write us a message. \n*Colonialism is a set of political and economic relationships in which the power of one nation or people delimits the sovereignty of another. Coloniality\, on the other hand\, is the outcome of colonialism\, understood as patterns of power inscribed in the culture\, labor\, intersubjective relations\, and knowledge production beyond the boundaries of definite colonial institutions. \n
