About „Gyvenimas per brangus” („Life is too expensive”)
„Gyvenimas per brangus“ (GPB) is a Left–wing media platform. The title comes from protests against high food prices and economic inequality that took place in 2016, which later transformed into a resistence against liberalisation of Lithuanian labor law and inspired an appearance of a workers’ solidarity network of the same name. The platform in it’s current, renewed form seeks to become a popular, relevant, and accessible source of political analysis and news with a Left–wing perspective.
In the website, you can find everyday stories from workplaces, analyses of politics, economy, and culture, news from Lithuania and abroad. What we care about does not exist or gets lost in the mainstream-media noise of all-knowing bank economists, sex-bombs, and sensationalist journalism. The website is managed by people who see social equality as an important and pursuable goal. If you believe in the same goal, you are invited to join!
