Kinemma: „Springbreakers”

Kinemma pradeda gegužės mėnesio filmų programą „Libidinės ekonomikos žaidimai” su Harmony Korine filmu „Spring breakers” (2012):

A nihilistic collapse into an eternalized present. An accelerationist manifesto of hedonistic enlightenment: the mecca of pleasure to be attained through the surrendering of every prohibition to the self-destructive abyss of consumption. Emptiness unfolds onto itself. To pass the threshold, to be only ones face, to accept the billboards hollow core as the cathartic becoming of a self – yet to always suspend this acceptance in the compulsive flaunting of, ‘having shit’. Spring breakers semi-ironically proposes for us to take the American dream to its ultimate conclusions. While we at Emma certainly don’t ascribe to such nihilist-Accelerationist doctrine, the manifesto seems to offer a nice talking point in relation to last weeks screening of “American Honey” where we found a more grounded, self-reflected, consideration of escape fantasies in neo-liberal times.
