Casa della pasta – prabangūs itališki restoranai senamiestyje ir Laisvės alėjoje. Movido – “madingas” baras po Romuvos kino teatru. Abiejose vietose – neišmokėti atlyginimai, įžeidinėjimai, bosų nesiskaitymas su darbuotojų teisėmis.
Du „Casa Della Pasta” indų plovėjai buvo išmesti iš darbo po to, kai pabandė organizuoti darbuotojų susirinkimus. Jie norėjo išsikovoti tai, kas ir taip turėtų jiems priklausyti: darbo sutartis visiems darbuotojams, teisingą atlyginimą už viršvalandžius ir lygų užmokestį darbuotojams ne iš Lietuvos (nes pastariesiems atlygis buvo mažesnis už tą patį darbą), darbo grafiko pranešimą prieš dvi savaites bei kitas elementarias teises. Išmesti jie buvo ne bet kaip. Vieną vakarą tik išėjusį iš darbo darbuotoją sustabdė pusamžis vyras, kuris patarė “nemutint vandens”. Kitą dieną bosas jį uždarė kelioms valandoms į ofisą, reikalavo atiduoti diktofoną, bandė jį atimti fiziškai, neleido išeiti į tualetą, žadėjo, kad pasodins į kalėjimą, nes turi daug pinigų, iškvietė policiją ir apkaltino receptų vogimu. Kitam darbuotojui, be visų panašių incidentų kaip ir pirmąjam, bosas per visą laiką nedavė ilgai žadėtos sutarties, todėl išmetęs nesumokėjo jam priklausančio atlyginimo už vieno mėnesio darbą. Šalia to, nuteikinėjo visus kitus darbuotojus prieš šiuos du “kriminalus”.

„Movido” neišmokėjo atlyginimų net šešiems darbuotojams. Bendra suma siekia 2 500 eurų. Nors jie jau seniai reikalavo savo atlygio už darbą, grasino darbo inspekcija, tačiau vietoj to, baro bosė ėmėsi savo smurto – apkaltino darbuotojus vagystėmis, kitais nebūtais dalykais, visaip tyčiojosi ir terorizavo. Viršininkė sako, kad jai darbo inspekcija nebaisi, nes ji išmano teisę ir žino “kaip reikia tvarkytis”. Nors pinigų niekas negavo, ant algalapių stebuklingu būdu atsirado darbuotojų parašai. Net ir negaudami atlyginimų, kai kurie darbuotojai ten vis dar dirbo ar dirba. Bosė grasino, kad jei kas išeis, tai bus pasirūpinta, kad kito darbo panašaus pobūdžio vietose susirasti nepavyktų.

Sausio 13 d. kartu su GPB solidarumo tinklu šie darbuotojai viešai perskaitė reikalavimus savo bosams jų restoranuose pačiame darbo įkarštyje. Iš „Casa Della Pasta” darbuotojai reikalavo išmokėti priklausantį atlyginimą, grąžinti juos į darbą, visus darbuotojus legaliai įdarbinti, mokėti už viršvalandžius, tiksliai apskaičiuoti darbo laiką, duoti nemokamos kavos puoduką ir maisto per pamainą, gerbti darbuotojų teisę organizuotis ir save atstovauti. Buvę „Movido” darbuotojai pareikalavo sumokėti visus jiems priklausančius pinigus už darbą. Iš abiejų kavinių laukiamas viešas bosų atsiprašymas.
Bosams buvo duota laiko iki sausio 15 d. apsipręsti – jeigu reikalavimai nebus patenkinti ir nesimatys pastangų deryboms, viešas spaudimas didės.

Casa Della Pasta: posh Italian restaurants in Kaunas’ old town and on Laisvės avenue. Movido: „fashionable” bar underneath Romuva cinema theatre. Both places have a recent history of wage theft, verbal abuse, breach of workers’ rights.
Two dish washers were fired from Casa Della Pasta after they tried to organise workers’ meetings. They wanted to get what belongs to them according to the labour laws: job contracts for all workers, fair pay for overtime, and equal pay for immigrant workers (who were working for less than those with Lithuanian passports), notice on work schedule for two weeks in advance, etc. Their firing was an exceptional story. One of the workers was approached by a middle-aged strange man outside his workplace one evening, who strongly advised „not to stir the water”. Next day, the boss imprisoned him in his office for several hours, without letting him use the lavatory, and demanded that he give his voice recorder to him. The boss assured the worker that he can put him to jail, as the boss has lots of money, called the police and accused the worker of stealing his recipes. The other worker also experienced similar abuse, but he also did not get his wage for a month, as he did not get his contract. The boss tried all means to turn other workers against these two „criminals”.
Movido owes wages to six (!) workers, all in all more than 2 500 euros. The workers tried to demand their wages to be paid and threatened the boss with contacting the work inspection, and the boss responded with violence: accused them of thievery and other crimes, bullied and terrorised them. The boss says she does not care about the work inspection as she knows the law very well. Although the money did not reach the workers, their signatures miraculously appeared on paychecks. The boss threatened the workers that if they leave Movido, it will be impossible for them to find a job somewhere else.
On Friday, January 13, at the peak hours of restaurants’ work, workers and „Gyvenimas Per Brangus” Solidarity Network read their demands to the bosses. Casa Della Pasta is to pay the wage, reinstate the fired workers, provide legal contracts to all workers, pay for overtime, account for worked hours fairly, provide a free cup of coffee and a meal during a shift, respect workers’ rights to organise and represent themselves. Former Movido workers demand to get their wages back. Both bosses are expected to apologise publicly.
Bosses were given time to react until Sunday, January 15. Since the situation did not change, public pressure will be increased.
